Armenian ornament draws on a wide range of motifs, types and forms, and an engraved ornament filled with epoxy resin decorates one side of this backgammon set (nardi). The compact board, 40 cm (about 16 in) across, follows our classic format, its body carved out of one solid piece of wood.
Turn the board over and its back is laid out for checkers, a second game in the same set. The format suits a small table, a desk or a corner of the kitchen, and the decorated side keeps the board worth looking at between games. Its size also makes it a good board for children to learn on.
