At 50 cm (about 20 in), this two-sided epoxy backgammon set (nardi) with abstract images is one of our workshop’s original models. Its board is carved from a single piece of walnut, and the images are applied in epoxy resin to both of its sides.
Being abstract, the images do not depict a particular subject: they are shapes that each person reads in their own way. Walnut, a traditional wood of fine furniture, forms the background to them. On the playing field, chance in the dice and skill in the moves share every game between the two players.
