For a chess player who keeps a small board on the desk, this classic set of figures is sized for a 30 x 30 x 3 cm board. Beech and walnut are the woods used for the figures, and the underside of each one is covered with velvet fabric.
A board of this size can stay set up beside a laptop or on a bookshelf, so a game can run over several days, one move at a time. The classic shapes let the position speak for itself, and the velvet keeps the board’s surface protected whenever a figure is set down.
