- 25-year guarantee certificate
Armenian rugs were made mainly as dowry pieces, gifts and commemorative pieces, and the ornament engraved on this carpet classic chess and backgammon set (nardi) is taken from patterns used in those carpets. Measuring 40 cm (about 16 in), the board is carved from a single beech piece, and the letters and numbers on its chess field are cast in bronze.
Backgammon, which has a claim to being among the world’s oldest games, values a flexible mind, careful reckoning of the moves to come and the ability to decide without delay. Chess, its companion in this set, asks for foresight and leaves no room for chance.
