- 25-year guarantee certificate
On a games table or a broad coffee table, this 50 cm (about 20 in) star-shaped chess set leaves two players room to settle into a long game. Its wood is beech, carved from one solid piece, and the letters and numbers that mark the field are carved into it as well.
The field follows the usual eight-by-eight pattern. Even with the pieces put away, a star-shaped set reads as a carved object rather than as equipment waiting for the next game, which makes this one easy to leave out in a living room the whole family uses.
