- 25-year guarantee certificate
Compact but not cramped, this classic chess set is 30 cm (about 12 in) across and cut from one piece of solid beech. The expanded playing field is the heart of the design: the eight-by-eight grid takes up more of the board, which keeps the squares roomy on a small set.
Pale beech gives the board a light, even tone, and the playing pieces are made of beech and walnut, pairing the pale wood with a darker one. A board of this size travels well to a holiday house or to the grandparents’ flat and is set up in moments.
