Carved from a single piece of solid wood, this two-sided epoxy backgammon set (nardi) follows our classic design and measures 60 cm (about 24 in). Stylised tree forms are engraved into both sides of the board, and blue epoxy resin fills each of them, so the pattern is part of the board rather than applied to it.
Trees are seldom blue, and that small surprise is what gives the board its character. The engraved shapes are kept simple, almost like a drawing, and the resin makes them stand out against the wood. Open the set, and two players race fifteen checkers each around twenty-four points.
