Road trips, flights and afternoons in the park are what this travel chess set is meant for. The 24 cm (about 9 in) board is carved from one piece of beech and bears our copyrighted contour outline.
Compact enough to travel with the luggage, it lets a game begun on a train be finished at the hotel. The carved letters and numbers help here: a position can be noted down before the board is closed and set up again on arrival. For children on a long journey, it turns waiting time into a game.
