Beehives, fully carved and painted with epoxy resin, decorate both sides of this two-sided backgammon set (nardi). It is one of our classic models: the 60 cm (about 24 in) board is carved from a single piece of solid wood, and the hives are worked into the wood of the board itself.
Backgammon, commonly called nardi in Armenia, is a game for two players, and the same board serves both long and short nardi. Chance and skill share every game, and whoever bears off all of their checkers first is the winner.
