The whole world fits on this walnut backgammon set (nardi): its board carries an engraved world map, filled with colourful epoxy resin. It is a classic model shaped from one piece of walnut wood, measures 60 cm (about 24 in), and on its back the board is set up for a game of checkers.
A map suits an office or a study, so the set can stay on a desk or a bookshelf next to atlases and travel books when no one is playing. When a game begins, two players have plenty of space, and the familiar mix of dice and decisions takes over.
