An engraved snowflake ornament and the outline of Mount Ararat, an emblem of Armenian identity, set the theme of this snowflake backgammon set (nardi). The board measures 40 cm (about 16 in) and was carved in one piece from beech; the snowflake occupies one side, and the outline is our own copyrighted design.
In Armenian the mountain is called Masis. Its outline comes from Hrachya Ohanyan, and our boards have carried it since 2000. On the back there is room for draughts, so one small board holds two games, and between games it sits comfortably on a desk or a narrow side table.
