Compact at 40 cm (about 16 in), this beech backgammon set (nardi) is a classic model made from one piece of beech wood. Its reverse is set out for playing checkers, while the other side is left plain, so one board serves two games.
A plain side means the wood itself is the decoration: beech, straw to light pink-brown in colour, with a straight grain.
