Grandparents, parents and children taking turns at one table will find room enough on this 60 cm (about 24 in) ornamental motif backgammon set (nardi), a classic model built from beech and plywood. One side bears an engraved Armenian ornamental motif.
Variety of motif, type and form runs through Armenian ornament, and this board takes one of its patterns for its decoration. Long and short nardi share the one field. Grandchildren who have not yet mastered backgammon can start with checkers instead, as the reverse of the board is made for exactly that.
