Our workshop makes this ornamental chess table from one piece of beech wood and gives it our copyrighted contour outline; its dimensions, 60 x 60 x 63 cm (about 24 in), suit a living room or a study. An engraved ornamental pattern encircles the playing field, and similar engraving covers the drawers and the legs.
The chess figures are stored in drawers built into two sides of the table, within reach whenever a game begins. The top holds a complete eight-by-eight chessboard, and each player sets out sixteen figures on it. As a piece of furniture, the table keeps the game ready in the room at all times, with no board to unpack and no space to clear.
