Hard, dense and hard-wearing, beech is the wood of this chess and backgammon set (nardi), and one block of it yields the entire 50 cm (about 20 in) board. Its design is defined by a contour outline, and the chessboard’s letters and numbers are cut into the same beech.
Backgammon has a long reputation as one of the world’s oldest games.
