- 25-year guarantee certificate
A grandparent teaching a grandchild the first moves of the game will find this classic rosette backgammon set (nardi) an easy size to share: 50 cm (about 20 in), carved from one piece of beech. An ornamental braid is engraved at the centre; the design also has a rosette, which gives the set its name, and golden scrolls in the corners.
The braid comes from Armenian ornamental patterns, a tradition in which motifs, types and forms vary widely. The reverse of the board holds a second game, draughts, for anyone who tires of the dice. Kept on a living-room shelf, the set is ready for a quick game after dinner or a longer one at the weekend.
