In a house where someone plays the piano, the hand-carved sculpture “Lady of the Piano” finds its place on a sideboard, a broad bookcase or a console in the music room. It is cut from a single piece of linden, made by hand in every detail, and measures 54 x 26 x 39 cm.

Its title links a lady with the piano, and the sculpture carries that musical theme into a room even when the instrument itself is silent. No two pieces of linden show quite the same grain or colour, which gives this sculpture a look of its own; beside sheet music, a metronome or a stack of records it becomes part of the household’s musical life.
