Measuring 50 cm (about 20 in), this pomegranate tree backgammon set (nardi) is a mid-sized board that fits a small table or a desk while still giving two players room to move their pieces. It is one of our classic models, cut as one piece from solid wood.
The engraving on one side shows a pomegranate tree filled with epoxy resin, and the pomegranate itself stands for abundance and well-being. The aim of the game is quick to explain to newcomers: whoever is first to bear off all of their pieces wins. Draughts players, meanwhile, have the other side of the board to themselves.
