This 50 cm (about 20 in) backgammon set (nardi) with an epoxy tree is a classic model from our workshop, cut and carved from one solid piece of wood. On one side the tree is engraved, and epoxy resin fills the cut.
Its back is ready for a game of checkers (draughts) once the board is turned over. Backgammon, meanwhile, is won by whoever bears off all of their checkers first. Between games, the set can stand on a shelf in a family room with the tree side facing out.
