- 25-year guarantee certificate
On a coffee table or a desk, this classic chess set claims a square of 40 cm (about 16 in), enough for relaxed play without taking over the surface. Around its playing field runs a white border of floral scrolls, and the board itself was carved from a single piece of beech.
A board of this size suits two generations at one table: a child sitting opposite a grandparent can reach every square without standing up, and the carved letters and numbers let the older player name a square instead of pointing at it. Between games, the white scrolls keep the set decorative enough to stay out on a low bookcase rather than go back into a cupboard.
