- 25-year guarantee certificate
Players who prefer a calm board will feel at home with this classic chess set, 50 cm (about 20 in) square and carved from a single piece of beech. Its playing field is expanded, which leaves the border as a slim frame, and the engraving on that frame is kept to a minimum.
Because the ornament stays light, the eye goes straight to the squares and to the carved letters and numbers that label them, which helps when a game is followed from a book or a lesson. Chess itself needs nothing more: two players, sixteen pieces each, no dice and no luck.
