- 25-year guarantee certificate
Diamond shapes carved into the border set the tone of this classic chess set, a 50 cm (about 20 in) board cut from one solid piece of beech. Inside the border lies an expanded playing field, which gives the squares a larger share of the surface. Pale beech, with its fine and even texture, lets the carved diamonds read clearly.
The diamonds form a geometric ornament rather than a picture, and their straight lines echo the grid of sixty-four squares inside the border. The letters and numbers beside the field are carved too, so a game can be written down square by square and replayed later.
