Living rooms where friends gather for a game are the natural home of this baroque rosette backgammon set (nardi), 60 cm (about 24 in) across. Its decoration combines a rosette in the baroque manner with floral scrolls, and an ornamental braid is engraved in the centre. Its board is carved from one piece of pale, straight-grained beech, and the design belongs to our classic line.
Rosette, scrolls and braid each bring a different kind of ornament: a round, flower-like figure, winding stems and an interlaced band. In Armenia backgammon is usually called nardi, and when a round of it ends, the board can simply be flipped to its draughts side.
