Carved by hand from beech and walnut wood, this set of 32 backgammon (nardi) pieces is made for everyday play. Velvet fabric covers the reverse of each piece, protecting the surface of the board as the checkers travel from point to point.
The pairing of woods does practical work: light beech and dark walnut let both players tell their sides apart at a glance. That makes the set a dependable spare to keep with your board, or a replacement for an older set that has started to lose its checkers one by one.
