- 25-year guarantee certificate
In a study or a home office, this chess set lets a game be set up during a break and left in place for later. Its 50 cm (about 20 in) board is cut from a single piece of beech and has a contour outline, and its letters and numbers are cast in bronze.
Players who work through annotated games will find the bronze coordinates useful: every move in a chess book refers to a square by letter and number, and on this board those references are made of metal. Each side commands sixteen pieces, and because chess hides nothing and involves no dice, a position left on the desk can be resumed exactly where it stopped.
