Bronze is the defining detail of this classic chess and backgammon set (nardi): it appears in the studs that decorate the set and in the letters and numbers of the chessboard, which are cast in the metal. As for the wood, the set is carved in one piece from beech and measures 40 cm (about 16 in) a side.
