Carved out of one piece of beech, this classic tiger backgammon set (nardi) has a board of 60 cm (about 24 in), and the tiger is engraved into wood of a light, pinkish-brown tone. Our workshop counts the design among its classic models, and on the reverse the board carries a field for checkers.
Tigers symbolise strength and courage, qualities any backgammon player will recognise from a tight finish. On a dining table after dinner or a low table by the sofa, the board invites a long, unhurried match for two, and between games the engraved tiger lets it double as décor.
