This handmade backgammon set (nardi) is carved from a single piece of walnut wood, with a 60 cm board, featuring the Coat of Arms of Armenia, braid motifs and hornbeam wood inlay (incrustation).
The Coat of Arms of Armenia is carved into the board, a rendition of the emblem of the First Republic of Armenia (1918-1920) with the arms of the four royal dynasties of historic Armenia at its center. Braid motifs add an extra ornamental layer to the design. Hornbeam wood incrustation (inlay) adds a contrasting detail to the walnut.
The reverse side is laid out for checkers (draughts).
