This handmade backgammon set (nardi) is carved from a single piece of beech wood, with a 60 cm board, featuring an engraved Mount Ararat.
Mount Ararat, Armenia's national symbol revered as a "Holy Mountain", is engraved on the board. According to the Book of Genesis, Noah's ark came to rest here after the flood; its two peaks are Masis (5,165 m) and Sis (3,925 m).
The reverse side is laid out for checkers (draughts).
