Armenian gift ideas
Looking for an Armenian gift? Our Armenian-inspired designs carry symbols people recognize and treasure: the signature Mount Ararat outline that has appeared in our designs since 2000, pomegranates, the eternity sign, carpet ornaments, the Armenian alphabet and churches such as St. Gayane, St. Hripsime and Etchmiadzin Cathedral. Why a carved game set makes a meaningful gift
Made to be passed down
Many boards are carved from a single piece of beech or walnut and finished with cast-bronze hinges and locks, so they are built to be played, not just displayed.
Personal by design
Add a name, a date or a short wish of up to 80 characters on the product page, and we engrave it inside the board free of charge.
Ready to play
Chess sets come with 32 pieces and backgammon boards include checkers and dice, so the game can start the moment the box is opened.
Before you order a gift
How does the gift finder work?
Answer five quick questions about who the gift is for, the occasion, what they enjoy, their style and your budget. The finder compares your answers with our chess sets, backgammon boards, tables and keepsakes and shows the best matches first. You can change any answer and the list updates.
Can I add a name or date to the gift?
Yes. Chess, backgammon and 2-in-1 sets include free personal engraving. Type a name, a date or a short wish (up to 80 characters) on the product page and we engrave it inside the board. Engraved orders need 4–5 additional working days.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are checked and packed within 1–3 business days. Standard delivery then takes 7–12 business days to the United States and 7–10 business days to the UK and the EU. Express delivery with FedEx or DHL is available at checkout, and every parcel ships with a tracking number.
Is shipping free?
Standard shipping is free to the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union. See our shipping policy for other countries.
What is the traditional 5th anniversary gift?
Wood. The fifth wedding anniversary is traditionally celebrated with wooden gifts, which makes an engraved chess or backgammon board with both names and the wedding date a fitting choice.
What is nardi?
Nardi is what backgammon is called in Armenia, Russia and across the Caucasus and Central Asia. The popular long nardi variant and classic backgammon are played on the same board with the same checkers and dice, so our backgammon boards work for both.
Do backgammon sets come with checkers and dice?
Yes. Every backgammon board includes checkers and dice, and our chess sets come with a full set of pieces.
Do you offer corporate or bulk gifts?
Yes. For corporate gifts, team gifts or wholesale orders, email info@hrachyaohanyan.co with a few details about your company.
