Hand-carved from a single piece of walnut and combined with metal pieces, this wooden dog sculpture is made completely by hand. It measures 24 x 7 x 22 cm, a size that suits a desk, a hall table or the shelf by the front door where leads and keys are kept.
Walnut takes its grain and colour from the tree it comes from, so no other carving of this dog will match this one exactly; the metal pieces bring a second material into the work. Dog owners will find a familiar friend in it, and it makes a fitting thank-you for a vet, a dog trainer or the neighbour who looks after the dog during the holidays.
