This handmade backgammon set (nardi) is carved from a single piece of walnut wood, with a 60 cm board, featuring the Coat of Arms of Armenia and braid motifs.
The Coat of Arms of Armenia is carved into the board, a rendition of the emblem of the First Republic of Armenia (1918-1920) with the arms of the four royal dynasties of historic Armenia at its center. Braid motifs add an extra ornamental layer to the design. Parts of the design are filled with epoxy resin, which adds depth and color.
The reverse side is laid out for checkers (draughts).
