This handmade backgammon set (nardi) is carved from a single piece of beech wood, with a 60 cm board, featuring horses and braid motifs.
A picture of horses, long regarded as among the bravest, noblest and most elegant animals, is engraved on one side. Braid motifs add an extra ornamental layer to the design.
The reverse side is laid out for checkers (draughts).
