The braid accompanies the copyrighted outline of Mount Ararat, while bronze letters and numbers label the chess field.

Ararat’s two peaks, Greater and Lesser Ararat, belong to a single volcanic massif, and many Armenians hold the mountain sacred. In backgammon, each of the two players moves fifteen checkers around twenty-four points, and the first to bear them all off wins; the game is held to be among the oldest anywhere and rewards a quick, calculating mind. Chess, with its sixty-four squares, completes the pair.

Product details

Size: 60 x 60 x 3 cm

Material: Beech wood

Design: Braid pattern and Mount Ararat outline

Finish: Varnished

Hardware: Cast bronze hinges and locks; cast bronze letters and numbers

Weight: 5 kg (7 kg packed)

Brand: Hrachya Ohanyan

Model: 31104

What's included

32 chess pieces and 32 backgammon checkers in beech and walnut wood, each with a velvet-lined base

Dice made from billiard balls

Branded carry case with wooden handle

Every set is completely handcrafted and comes with a 25-year guarantee certificate.
