The board measures 40 cm (about 16 in) and is carved from one piece of beech, a wood whose colour runs from straw to a light pinkish brown. For the chess field, the letters and numbers are cast in bronze.

The copyrighted outline depicts Mount Ararat, which can be seen from the monastery of Khor Virap on the Ararat plain. Backgammon has a very long history and is believed to rank among the world’s oldest games; it is a game of logic for quick thinkers who can count several moves ahead. In chess, by its nature, every piece stays in view of both players.

Product details

Size: 40 x 40 x 3 cm

Material: Beech wood

Design: Mount Ararat outline

Finish: Varnished

Hardware: Cast bronze hinges and locks; cast bronze letters and numbers

Weight: 3 kg (4 kg packed)

Brand: Hrachya Ohanyan

Model: 31119

What's included

32 chess pieces and 32 backgammon checkers in beech and walnut wood, each with a velvet-lined base

Dice made from billiard balls

Branded carry case with wooden handle

Every set is completely handcrafted and comes with a 25-year guarantee certificate.
