Pale and even in texture, beech takes a finish well. One side of the board carries an Armenian ornament in the form of a snowflake, and our copyrighted outline of Mount Ararat is part of the design too.

Armenian ornament has a rich store of motifs, types and forms, and this snowflake belongs to that tradition. On the coat of arms of Armenia, Mount Ararat is shown together with Noah’s Ark. Hrachya Ohanyan drew the outline used here, and the workshop has worked with it since 2000. The back of the board is marked out for checkers.

Product details

Size: 60 x 60 x 3 cm

Material: Beech wood

Design: Snowflake ornament, Mount Ararat outline

Finish: Natural beeswax

Hardware: Cast bronze hinges and locks

Weight: 5 kg (7 kg packed)

Brand: Hrachya Ohanyan

Model: 11846

What's included

32 playing pieces in beech and walnut wood, each with a velvet-lined base

Dice made from billiard balls

Branded carry case with wooden handle

Handcrafted from start to finish, each set is backed by a 25-year guarantee certificate.
