The engraving on it is of Mount Ararat with its two peaks: Masis, the traditional Armenian name of the greater one, and Sis, the smaller.

Ararat is regarded as a national symbol of Armenia, and many hold it to be a holy mountain. By tradition it is where Noah’s Ark settled after the Flood, and the mountain is shown with the Ark on Armenia’s coat of arms. As for the game, every match mixes the luck of the dice with the skill of two players, and the first to bear off all their checkers wins.

Product details

Size: 50 x 50 x 3 cm

Material: Beech wood

Design: Engraved Mount Ararat

Finish: Varnished

Hardware: Brass hinges and locks

Weight: 4 kg (5.5 kg packed)

Brand: Hrachya Ohanyan

Model: 11571

What's included

32 playing pieces in beech and walnut wood, each with a velvet-lined base

Dice made from billiard balls

Branded carry case

Handcrafted from start to finish, each set is backed by a 25-year guarantee certificate.
