Ararat counts as a national symbol of Armenia, and many Armenians consider it a holy mountain.

The mountain has two peaks; Armenians traditionally call the greater one Masis and the smaller one Sis. According to tradition, it was on Ararat that Noah’s Ark came to rest as the waters of the Flood went down. On this board the engraving keeps that story in view during an ordinary game of chess on the familiar eight-by-eight field.

Product details

Size: 40 x 40 x 3 cm

Material: Beech wood and plywood

Design: Engraved Mount Ararat

Finish: Varnished

Hardware: Brass hinges and locks

Weight: 3 kg (4 kg packed)

Brand: Hrachya Ohanyan

Model: 16010

What's included

32 chess pieces in beech and walnut wood, each with a velvet-lined base

Branded carry case

Handcrafted from start to finish, each set is backed by a 25-year guarantee certificate.
